64. Weltkongress für Tanzforschung

Der 64. Weltkongress für Tanzforschung, der vom 1. bis 5. Juli 2026 in Athen stattfindet, ist das weltweit größte Treffen von Tanzfachleuten. Er wird vom Internationalen Tanzrat (CID) und dem Dora Stratou Tanztheater organisiert und zieht etwa 300 Expert*innen aus 40 Ländern auf fünf Kontinenten an.

Der Kongress richtet sich an Fachleute – Praktiker*innen, Lehrer*innen, Choreograf*innen, Forscher*innen, Journalist*innen und Organisator*innen. Er dient als Bildungsveranstaltung und Networking-Plattform mit Schwerpunkt auf informellen Diskussionen und beruflichen Kontakten. Er wird vom Dora Stratou Dance Theater und den CID-Sektionen in Athen, Faliro und Piräus organisiert, vom CID unterstützt und steht unter der Schirmherrschaft der Nationalen UNESCO-Kommission, der Region Athen und der Stadt Athen.

Der Internationale Tanzrat (CID) ist die offizielle globale Organisation für alle Formen des Tanzes und wurde 1973 am Hauptsitz der UNESCO in Paris gegründet. Er arbeitet mit der UNESCO zusammen und umfasst renommierte Verbände, Vereinigungen, Schulen, Unternehmen und Einzelpersonen aus über 185 Ländern.

The 64th World Congress of Dance Research, held in Athens from 1-5 July 2026, is the largest global gathering of dance professionals. Organized by the International Dance Council (CID) and the Dora Stratou Dance Theater, it attracts about 300 experts from 40 countries across five continents.

The Congress is designed for professionals - practitioners, teachers, choreographers, researchers, journalists, and organizers. It serves as an educational event, a networking platform, focusing on informal discussions and professional contacts.

It is organized by the Dora Stratou Dance Theater and CID sections in Athens, Faliro, and Piraeus and endorsed by CID and under the patronage of the National UNESCO Commission, the Region of Athens, and the City of Athens.

The International Dance Council (CID) is the official global organization for all forms of dance, founded in 1973 at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. It partners with UNESCO and includes prominent federations, associations, schools, companies, and individuals from over 185 countries.
